Render Traces
It is possible to view traces without having the total farsight package. As long as you have the .xml file of the trace and the 3D image (.tif file) you can view it in render traces. To do this, first download RenderTraces.exe, under downloads. Be sure to save this executable in the same location as your .xml and .tif files. Once this file has been saved, execute the following steps:
1-Open up a command window(start->run->cmd)
2-Change the directory to the location where the executable, .xml and .tif files are saved. For example, if you saved these in a folder in your c drive called traces, type: cd C:\traces\
3-Now, type: RenderTraces.exe It should show you Usage: RenderTraces.exe [ImageFile] [TraceFile]
This means that the RenderTraces program is working correctly but it is missing the input files...Now you can use this by supplying the required input files..
4-Supply the input files by Typing: RenderTraces.exe "ImageFileName.tif" "TraceFileName.xml" where ImageFileName.tif is the 3D tif image and TraceFileName.xml is the 3D trace xml. Be sure to include ".." around the file names as shown above.
